
Impact of Covid-19 on airline capacity to Asia

100% of flights from Europe to China are cancelled until 23 March, and the cancellation rate to Hong Kong is stabilising at around 40%.
British Airways had already partially cut its flight schedule to China beyond March last week: a “snapshot” of flight schedules on 2 March (source: OAG) shows that other European airlines, such as Air France and SAS, have decided to partially cancel their schedule to China for April (the start of the summer season).
Many European airlines have also reported a substantial reduction in their flight schedules to Italy. Our next weekly update will give a concrete picture of the scale of these changes.
